David joined the band in 2019 to play Alto Saxophone and Eb Clarinet.
Having started with recorder lessons at the tender age of 5 - and taking his first music exam at 6, he went on to learn violin (disaster), Clarinet, Oboe and Piano. After studying Music at A-Level David went on to Lancaster gaining a BA in Music as well as taking Grade 8 and the LRAM in Clarinet. A change of direction led David to spend many years working in the theatre as a sound designer, composer and pit band player for opera and ballet as well as West-End Musicals.
These days, he enjoys arranging for various local groups - including the Ludlow Concert Band and teaches woodwind in a number of schools. Being Colin's co-conductor was a wonderful opportunity to work with the talented LCB conducting a wide variety of musical types as well as his own arrangements.
Following the loss of his "brother-in-music", in the shape of Colin, David has taken up the baton full-time and will continue to work with the band to move onwards and upwards.
